Completed today in Pattaya, Thailand on 4th World Shotgun Championship.
Our national team, continuing its steady good course of the last two years, brought huge distinctions that now rank it as one of the world’s leading powers.
Specifically, the Modified team consisting of Michalis Hatzigianni, Yiannis Topalidis, Giorgos Filippou and Yiannis Karman took second place in the team behind champions Finland, beating hosts Thailand who made huge strides but also traditional powers like Italy, Czech Republic and USA who missed out on medals.
In order to achieve this result, our shooters achieved important individual distinctions, with the best of all third place of Michalis Hatzigiannisa position he has never occupied again in a Greek World Championship and certifying that he is the leading marksman in practice shooting.
His appearance is remarkable and wonderful Giannis Topalidis who took a bronze medal in the Modified senior and seventh overall, while o George Philippou the man whose name is linked to the leiocano and who all the successes to date bear his own stamp with an impressive demarcation entered the top eight, completing the triumph. His presence was also excellent John Karman which contributed to the team’s stability and finished 29th overall and seventh in Senior.
Finally, the fifth member of the National team, Dimitris Kandylishad a very good presence and won the 24th place in Stsndard Manual which is the best place in this category.
So the practical shooting shows that it is on the right track since it follows the example and the successes of the fixed and clay target expecting to receive the corresponding help from the federation so that the team can continue its course and bring success in the future.
