“ARIS Midea KAE announces the acquisition of Jonathan Christopher Stark for the remainder of the 2023-24 season.

The American athlete was born on May 23, 1995 and with a height of 1.83m. competes in the position of point guard. Afoi attended Munford High School, began his college career at Tulane, from 2013 to 2015. He averaged 14.5 points and 4.2 assists per game in his freshman year and 10.6 points and 4.4 assists in his sophomore year.

In 2016 he transferred to Murray State where he had two outstanding seasons. In 2016-17 he averaged 21.9 points, 5.2 assists and 1.3 steals and was named to the First Team All-Ohio Valley Conference. The following year, he averaged 21.4 points, 3.9 assists and 1.3 steals and was named Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year.

In the 2018-19 season, Stark attempted to make the jump to the NBA, playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves’ affiliate, the Iowa Wolves, where he averaged 12.6 points, 5.8 assists and 2.6 rebounds. In 2019-20 he suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon and was sidelined and in 2020 he made his first European trip, on behalf of German Giesen, with whom he averaged 11.7 points and 4.1 assists.

In the 2021-22 season he played in the Hungarian Alba Fehervar with 12.8 ppg and 4.8 assists and last year he played in the French Orleans, counting 12.3 ppg and 5 assists. In the summer of 2023, he signed with the Israeli Hapoel Haifa, from where he left due to the war, and will now support ARIS Midea until the end of the season.”
