“ESAKE, in the context of its continuous development effort as the organizing authority of the Stoiximan Basket League and its organizational upgrade, announces the recruitment of Mr. Efthymis Rentzias to the position of General Manager after a unanimous decision of the Board of Directors of the Association and evaluation of the nominations submitted after from the open call for expressions of interest.
Born on January 11, 1976 in Megala Kalivia, Trikala, Efthimis Rentzias is an “old glory of Greek basketball” who played in the NBA with the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2002-3 season, while he was crowned World Champion with the National Youth Team in 1995 in Athens.
He also played for Danao, PAOK (with whom he won the Korats Cups, Greece), Barcelona (two Spanish Championships, one Korats Cup and one Spanish Cup), Ulker, Siena and Valladolid. In the National team he has 128 appearances.
Since 2016, he has been an ambassador of the NBA in Europe.
He was General Manager at KAE Trikala Bc (2015-17) and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Basketball Federation.
For eight years (2011-19) he was Deputy Governor of Thessaly for Sports and Culture».
