In the spirit of the days, players and members of the football department of the “Union” visited the “SOS Children’s Villages” and Children’s Hospital “Panagioti & Aglaia Kyriakou”

“Two really special visits were made by AEK football players, ahead of the Christmas holidays.
The Doubles of Greece decided to buy gifts with money they collected and give them to the children who grow up in the SOS Children’s Village of Vari and to those who are hospitalized in the “Panagioti & Aglaia Kyriakou” Children’s Hospital.
Stankovic, Athanasiadis, Mukudi, Mohammadi, Rota, Cullens, Vida, Hadjisafi, Sidibe, Simanski, Jonsson, Gacinovic, Pineda, Mandalos, Amrabad, Garcia, Van Weert and Eliasson, accompanied by AEK Sporting Director Bruno Alves, Team Manager, Dimitris Nalitzis and the Head of the Press Office, Tassos Tsatalis, visited the SOS Children’s Village Vari.
There, they were welcomed by the President of the Organization, Antonis Alakiotis, the Director of the SOS Children’s Village, Lemonis Filon, as well as the people of the Village.
The Yellow and Black gave out gifts to the children, signed autographs and played games and table football with them.
Their presence there did not move to the limits of… a typical visit, since afterwards the AEK players went out to the 5X5 field that exists in the facility and played football for a long time with their little friends, who seemed crazy about the experience.
Before leaving, the football players of the Union heard from the officials of the Organization how important it is for the children to see AEK compete in its European games, such as the last one against Ajax, with the “Children’s Villages SOS” on their shirt, while the players for their part promised the children that their next meeting would be at the OPAP Arena, in a team game.
Ginis, Theoharis, Pelios, Mitoglou, Gemboa, Galanopoulos, Lamarana, Tzuber, Fernandes, Zini, Pissaro, Chrysopoulos and Ponce, accompanied by AEK Technical Director Radek Kuharski, Team Manager Panos Anastasopoulos and team doctor Haris Lalos, they visited the “Panagioti & Aglaia Kyriakou” Children’s Hospital.
They were welcomed and accompanied to the departments of surgery, orthopedics and the ENT clinic by the deputy director of the hospital, Mr. Andreas Toskas.
The AEK footballers gave the children in the hospital educational toys and electronic devices to use during their hospitalization, with the hope that this will be as short as possible, as well as scarves and sports equipment of the team. At the same time, they signed autographs, took pictures with them and discussed a lot about football issues, but also about their favorite pastimes”.
