Three away games have tonight AEK, PAOK and Olympiacos, who will play against Panserraikos, Kifissia (in Kaisariani) and Atromitos, for the 15th and last matchday for 2023 in Stoiximan Super League.
The other two matches of the day which will mark the finale for this year, are held in Ioannina between PAS and Panaitolikos, in Heraklion OFI play Asteras Tripoli.
In his 12 visits to Ioannina, Panaitolikos had scored a total of four goals and last season in the matches between the two teams for the regular season and the Playouts he scored six. In fact, the Agrini team had not managed to score in their first seven matches there until October 19, 2017, when Morar found the net in the 69th minute to draw 1-1 for Panaitolikos.
In the last ten matches between them, the home team has won just three times, while last year only PAS managed to do so in their matchup for the Playouts.
For the First Round of this year’s championship, they remained at 0-0, a result that had appeared since November 7, 2020 and Ioannina – Panaitolikos.
1-0 and 0-0 are the most frequent scores in their meetings in Ioannina, with three appearances each. It follows 2-0 with two appearances.
The first meeting in their history was on March 21, 1976 and ended with a 1-0 victory for the Epirus team thanks to a goal by Glasmanis.
The first victory for the Agrini team came on October 20, 2018, with 2-0 and Franco Mazurek scoring both goals for Panaitolikos and becoming the only footballer to have scored twice in the same match for both teams in PAS Ioannina – Panaitolikos matches.
The last time the two teams met for the championship with Panserraikos at home was on January 9, 2011, when AEK came away with a 3-1 victory from the Municipal Stadium of Serres with two goals from Liberopoulos and one from Blanco, while for the hosts Georgiadis had scored.
The two teams also met last season for the Greek Cup, where again AEK came away with a 3-1 victory over Serres, after winning the first match 3-0.
In total, they have met for the championship 24 times with Panserraikos as home team and from their first matches the Serres team had built a tradition, in which they did not lose in their first five as home team, while in the first eleven they had two losses.
From the 1977-78 season, AEK made its counterattack and prevailed in eight of the 13 matches they played in Serres and reversed the balance.
Of course, the most frequent score between them is the 1-1 which has been presented five times, followed by the victories of AEK with 1-0 and of Panseraikos with 2-0 which they have from four appearances.
AEK’s biggest win was 5-1 on March 8, 2009 with Tzibur and Blanco scoring two goals each and the other coming from Skokos.
Thomas Mavros is the only one who has managed to score a hat trick in an away game against Panserraikos and this happened on May 6, 1979, in AEK’s 5-2 victory. The other goals came from Ardizoglou and Bajevic, while Tsiolas and Anastasiadis scored for the hosts.
In the last seven games between the two teams, there is no away victory, that is, since January 26, 2021, when Asteras Tripoli had won 1-0 in Heraklion thanks to a goal by Tsima.
Only in one of the last ten meetings between them have both scored and this happened in last year’s match against OFI at home in the process of the Stoiximan Playouts, where it ended 1-1.
In the match of the 1st Round, OFI was defeated 3-0 and maintained the tradition that wants it to not have a victory in its 12 visits to the home of Asteras Tripoli.
Four of OFI’s five home wins are without conceding a goal, while most of them were scored on September 29, 2019, when they won 3-1 (56′ Figueiredo, 65′ Neira, 87′ Semedo – 51′ Fernandez) .
Asteras Tripoli started their away matches with OFI with a win, after winning 3-0 on October 21, 2007 thanks to the goals of Cesarek (32′, 64′) and Panteliadis (90′). Ateras Tripoli also scored three goals in their second victory (3-2) in Heraklion, on October 26, 2014, in the most productive game of the two teams in Heraklion.
This is Kifisia’s first home match against PAOK. The newly formed team scored the first goal in its history in the major division in the meeting between them for the First Round of the championship that ended with a victory (2-1) of PAOK, where Yannis Masouras put his name next to this milestone for Kifisia and had temporarily tied at 1-1.
The last time PAOK had played at the stadium of Kaisariani was again on December 21, 2011 for the Greek Cup, in a match that was stopped in the 15th minute against Ethniki Asteras.
In a match for the championship, he was at the stadium of Kaisariani on March 23, 2002, when Ethnikos Asteras won 3-1 thanks to two goals from G.X. Georgiadis and one by Vassilis Borbokis, while Berneanou had scored for the hosts.
The last new team they faced in the Super League was Volos in the 2019-20 season, where they prevailed 2-0 in their first match played in Volos and 1-0 in the Second Round in the Toumba game. Just before that were the matches with Lamia in the 2017-18 season, where again he scored two victories without conceding a goal in the first season, first in Toumba 4-0 and in Lamia 2-0.
Atromitos hosted Olympiakos twice last year and both matches ended in a draw and in fact within ten days. First on January 11 for the Greek Cup with 2-2 (8 Tzovaras, 51′ Kotsopoulos – 38′ Cisse, 44′ Marcelo) and then for the championship 1-1 (64′ Fridjonsson – 54′ Bakabou).
Atromitos will host Olympiakos for the 23rd time for the A’Ethniki/Super League with the Red and Whites having a positive record in these encounters, but with the Peristeri team losing most of the games. Olympiacos has a total of 16 wins in 22 matches, but 12 of them are by one goal (10 with 1-0 and 2 with 2-1).
Petros Karavitis and Youssef El Arabi with three goals are the top scorers in these matches, while Giorgos Korakakis has found the net twice for Atromitos.
The first meeting in their history in the A’ National/Super League with Atromitos at home was on April 1, 1973, with Olympiacos winning with Petros Karavitis’ goal in the 21st minute.
The match between them for the First Round ended with a 4-0 victory for Olympiakos, with Giorgos Masouras scoring two goals and Mandi Kamaras and Kini the others.
