The “green light” for the creation of the European Super League ignited the European Court of Justice, claiming that there cannot be a monopoly by UEFA and FIFA regarding football competitions in Europe.

LaLiga did not take long to place Javier Tempasvia his official Twitter/X account, who once again expressed his doubts about such a move.

“They are starting to lose control, as they warned, since they have always been able to organize matches outside the UEFA and FIFA environment, and such an event cannot be banned, but the point is that their conditions are under the UEFA regime and of FIFA“, the president of the Spanish League wrote in his first post.

“What he needs to make clear is that there should be transparent, clear, objective rules for the sanctioning of competitions, which is not enough to simply disapprove, and that there should be a regulatory, objective structure that requires comparable conditions across the football field, but that it is not left to the free judgment of FIFA and UEFA, because there would be a situation of abuse of sovereign power. As early as 2022, UEFA established a process to approve new competitions in which the European Super League can participate“, he added.
