“PGMOL acknowledges that a significant human error occurred during the first half of the match between Liverpool and Arsenal. In retrospect, this was a clear and obvious mistake and should have been awarded a penalty with VAR intervention, however VAR did not intervene.

PGMOL will conduct a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances under which the error occurred. PGMOL will immediately contact Liverpool at the conclusion of its investigation, where it will acknowledge the error”.
