According to reports, Diallo was giving his colleague a lift after a club event when masked men intercepted the car and assaulted Hamraoui with a metal bar. The athlete was injured in the hands and legs and had to be removed from the cast last week.

As the attacks were aimed only at Hamraoui and no property would have been stolen, Diallo was treated as a suspect.

She replaced her partner in the starting lineup in the team’s last match, for the Champions League, a 4-0 victory over Real Madrid. Last month, Diallo was called up for the national team precisely as a replacement for Hamraoui, who at the time had suffered a calf injury.
