Lea Deak became a PAOK volleyball player on Thursday. The “black and white” AS announced the acquisition of the 23-year-old international Croatian passer for the rest of this season.
For the last three years Deak has been competing in the Swiss Volero.
In detail, the announcement:
“PAOK and the women’s volleyball department announce the start of cooperation with the athlete, Lea Deak, for the remainder of the 2023-2024 season.
Born in Croatia on 27/04/2000, Lea Deak plays as a passer and is 178cm tall.
She made her first steps in volleyball in the 2013-14 season from the Croatian HAOK Mladost, where she remained until the 2016-17 season. In this four-year period, she won two championships and two Croatian cups, while also competing at a young age in the CEV Women’s Cup.
Then followed a two-year stint (2017-2019) at OK Olimpik, playing international duty both with Croatia’s U19 and the women’s team, with whom he competed in the 2019 European Championship.
In the 2019-20 season he returned again to HAOK Mladost, with whom he won the domestic double.
The next stop of her career was Switzerland and more specifically Volero Zurich, in which she competed in the 2020-21, 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons. There, he won a Swiss double in the 2021-22 season, while in the same season he also won first place in the FIVB Challenger Cup 2022 with the Croatian national team.
In the first half of this season (2023-24), she played in Romania and more specifically in CSM Volei Alba-Blaj, gaining her first performances from the top interclub competition, the CEV Women’s Champions League.
Now, she brings her talent, but also the championship experience to PAOK, in order to contribute as much as possible to the lofty goals of the ‘two-headed’.
Regarding the start of cooperation with PAOK, Lea Deak stated on the club’s official website, acpaok.gr: “The people of PAOK welcomed me to the club in the best way, they were friendly and very good to me. I can’t wait to meet my new coach, but also my new teammates.
