A very busy EFOEPA program has been prepared which includes a record number of a total of 56 table tennis tournaments (48 WTT Youth Contender and 8 WTT Youth Star Contender). The Greek colors have been participating in the institution since the first season of its appearance during the time of the corona virus, in the last two years they have greatly increased their participation and now they are preparing to enter the junior tournaments for the new year.
The first two WTT Youth Contenders are held in January in Europe, in fact, they are four days, in which boys and girls compete together. The opening in Linz, Austria is from 11 to 14/01 and the teenagers Alexandros Madesis and Giorgos Gerakios of AEK have declared their participation.
Next is Antalya, Turkey in the period 16-19/01 and the teenagers Stathis Manolopoulos (OEA Rethymno), Giorgos Kosmas (DAO Tavros), the children Kostas Fakaros (Phoenix Agia Sophia Piraeus), Konstantinos Toulias (AS Proodos Voutza) are going to compete Rafina) and the youths Mavra Kontopoulou and Alcistis Kasimi (PKD Tavrou).
The Youth Contender category concerns the ages from Under 11 to Under 19. In addition to the classic singles, the specific opens also include the mixed doubles competition (with two categories, up to 15 and up to 19 years old) and will be finalized in the coming days and there Greek participations.
In Austria’s Youth Contender, Alexandros Madesis, number 1 in the Greek youth rankings, and Giorgos Gerakios (No. 41) will take part in the Under 19 category. The matches will take place at the excellent “Tips Arena” in Linz.
In the Youth Contender of Turkey, Stathis Manolopoulos, number 4 in the Greek ranking list of teenagers, will compete in the Under 19 category. Giorgos Kosmas (No. 11 among teenagers, but also No. 2 among children in the last month of his appearance in this category) will try his hand at the Under 17 and Under 19 categories.
Kostas Fakaros (No. 3 among the boys) and Konstantinos Toulias (No. 26) will be in Under 15 and Under 17, while Mavra Kontopoulou and Alkisti Kasimi (No. 1 and No. 3 respectively in the last month of their appearance in the girls and No. 10 and No. 14 respectively in the juniors) will participate in the Under 17 and Under 19 categories.
