THE NIGHT OF ARIS VOVO
*With great joy and emotion, KAE GS AMAROUSIOU 1896 announces that on Saturday January 13 (18.00), before our team’s match against Prometheus for the 13th matchday of the Stoiximan Basket League, it will honor his contribution to the department basketball, a special person: ARIS VOVO. The administrative leader who associated his name and by extension his family’s with the most brilliant period in the history of GSA (1995-2010). Then when “Marousaki” not only allowed after 17 whole years in the big category (in 1998), but through hard work, program and dedication it evolved into “Marousara of Europe”. In a team that left an indelible mark on the top level, for more than a decade.
*Under his guidance, a launch took place that exceeded all expectations and that too in times of fierce competition. Winning the Saporta Cup (2001), reaching the Round of 16 of the Euroleague (2009-10) with victories over top European clubs, participating in the FEL final (2004), the semi-finals of Korac (2002), the final of of the Greek Championship (2004), the two appearances in the finals of the Greek Cup (2002 and 2006) and the six participations in the four play offs, were the strong confirmation that Marousi was not a “firecracker”, but a model of duration that evolved into a sentence for the sports community.
*Along with the successes, as an organization, it contributed to the promotion of top executives who served the National team at all levels.
*By decision of the KAE administration, the time has come for the family of Amarousiou – and not only – to say a big “thank you” to Aris Vovos, as a small token of recognition of this priceless contribution which he keeps as a legacy, a source of inspiration and guide to continue marching into the new era that dawned with the return to the big division, keeping the thirst and enthusiasm for new successes undiminished.
