To the parliamentary inquiry committee on the Tempe tragedy the former minister of PASOK testified Dimitris Reppas who stated that if the contract for the restoration of the Signaling-Remote Control System of the Athens-Thessaloniki-Promahonas railway section had been completed, the accident would have been avoided.

With regard to the placement of the specific Larissa station master, he said that from the result comes the conclusion that he was unsuitable for this position.

Mr. Reppas spoke of “heavy political responsibilities” and pointed out that the OSE in recent decades has received a lot of money from the European Union and public funds, but not everything has gone in the right direction and the projects have not been completed.

Tomorrow morning the examination committee will meet again and the current Minister of Citizen Protection Michalis Chrysochoidis and former Minister of Transport will testify as a witness at 10:00.
