Oleksandr Tiukin will continue his career at PAOK until the end of this season. The “two-headed” announced the acquisition of the 39-year-old Ukrainian regional, to strengthen the attack in the attempt to claim the domestic titles.
Tyukin has been competing in the Turkish league in recent years.
In detail, the announcement:
“PAOK and the men’s handball department announce the start of cooperation with the athlete, Oleksandr Tiukin, for the remainder of the 2023-2024 season.
Born in Ukraine on 16/05/1985, Oleksandr Tyukin plays on the perimeter and is 195cm tall.
He started his career at Politehnik Donetsk in Ukraine in 2005, where he stayed until 2012, gathering valuable experience.
In the 2012–13 season, he played for Dinamo Poltava of Ukraine, with whom he competed in the top club competition, the EHF Champions League.
The 2013-14 season found him in the jersey of ZTR Zaporozhie, with whom he competed in the EHF Cup.
The following season (2014-15), he played for the first time outside of Ukraine, playing for the Turkish team, Hantash Mersin.
He was in Turkey until the first half of this season, playing for Trabsonsport (2015-16), Selka Eskisehir (2016-18), Antalyasport (2018-20), Izmir (2020-21), with which, in fact, won the Turkish Cup, Hataysport (2021-2022), Sakarya (2022-23) and Nilufer (2023).
He is an international with the national team of Ukraine, with whom he competed both in the U20 team and in the men’s team.
On the start of cooperation with PAOK, Oleksandr Tiukin stated on the club’s official website, acpaok.gr: “I am very happy to have joined PAOK. PAOK is a big club, with a long history and tradition and always has high goals. Every time, at every club I’m at, I want to win as much as I can. I will give my best so that the team can achieve its goals.”
