Maccabi Tel Aviv-Panathinaikos AKTOR: The “greens” are psyched for their fifth straight win

by

Next stop… Belgrade for his “train”. Panathinaikou AKTOR!

Only a few days after the great victory over him Olympiakou in the OAKA for the Stoiximan Basket League, the “greens” return to their duties in the Euroleague, facing the Maccabi Tel Aviv in “Pionir Hall” (21:05, News Bulletin 247, sport-frm.gr, Novasports 4) for the 23rd matchday of the competition.

His team Ergin Ataman is currently in 4th place in the Euroleague table with 14-8 recordcounting in fact four consecutive victories, while at the same time he also has eight pink match cards in her nine most recent games in the institution! In the last ever game in the competition, he celebrated a great home victory with a score of 84-71 against Partizan, in a night where Zelimir Obradovic was deified for the umpteenth time by the world of “clover”.

On the other hand, Maccabi Tel Aviv is in a bad “moon”, counting three straight defeats and four of its last five games in all competitions. At EuroLeague level, it comes from the away defeat by a score 89-72 by Olympiakos, a result which dropped her to 9th place in the standings with a record of 12-10.

In the first round, Panathinaikos was defeated with a score of 86-81 in overtime by the Israelis for the 4th game, a period in which the “greens” were still finding their feet. Tonight, they’ll be looking for an… atypical rematch to erase that loss.

In the competition now, Ergin Ataman has to manage their well-known absences in one more match Luka Vildosa and Alexander Balcherovsky. As far as he is concerned Kostas Sloukasthe Greek guard is out for tonight’s match after suffering a contusion and is expected to return to action in 10 days.

Referees of the match will be Robert Lottermoser, Uros Nikolic and Saso Petek.
