His own versionregarding the case of non-renewal of his collaboration with Panathinaikos gave today (25/01), through his interview, Alberto Brignoli…
Speaking on the website “Tuttomercatoweb”the Italian goalkeeper spoke so much about his past at the “clover”, stressing that he expected more respect because of what he offered.
As for his… future, with Brinioli looking optimistic that a solution will be found so that he can immediately leave Panathinaikos.
What Brignoli said in detail:
Because he is now out of the team: “It’s really a strange situation. Everything happened suddenly. They asked me to renew my contract, we had a discussion and disagreements arose. Then the coach changed and they asked me what I want to do. I replied that I would rather have an experience somewhere else. From that moment I was left out of the plans and after two days, they informed me that I have to train alone.”
For the fact that he was doing well until he was left out of Panathinaikos: “I won the best goalkeeper award of the previous season and until mid-November, I was doing well. Then I made a few mistakes, but that’s part of the game. Yes, it’s strange, I expected the team to be able to make decisions, but it never occurred to me that at some point I would be punished in this way. I accept it, I always respected the team and put Panathinaikos above me through thick and thin. I respect the team’s decisions, but they didn’t respect me and what I’ve done, for the club and my job.”
For the interest of Granada, while Panathinaikos wants money to let him go: “The technical director told me that given the situation, the team will help me find a solution. We had found another solution, but it was probably not the one they wanted. Other options may arise. But I believe we will find a compromise. Also, why did I come to Panathinaikos for nothing.”
On whether he is thinking of returning to Italy: “Italy is my homeland. If I have a suggestion, I will take it into consideration. I need to understand the game plan. I am 32 years old, I am healthy, I played in the Europa League. Yes, of course, and I would consider a serious proposal from Italy”
