THE David Carmo has been a football player of Olympiakos for a few hours nowwith Piraeus acquiring the Portuguese stopper on loan from Porto.
The 24-year-old defender made his first statements and, speaking to the club’s camera, he spoke of his desire to win a title while stressing the importance of having his compatriots in the squad.
What he said in detail:
“I am very happy to have come to Olympiakos. I feel very good and since I saw that I had the opportunity to come here I felt very privileged to represent the biggest club in Greece.
In football, victory is important and Olympiacos has the opportunity to win the championship and play in Europe. So I want to win a title this year. I want to help Olympiacos succeed, this is very important for me.
I think that as a central defender, apart from defending well, I can also help the team in attack. I can pass, help develop and contribute to both sides of the game.
I know that Olympiacos is a big club and that the responsibility is big. So the fans should expect passion, victories and what I promise is to give everything on and off the field, to help the team win.
The presence of my compatriots in the team is very important as January is coming and I will not have time to prepare. The presence of Portuguese players and coach will help me a lot.
I know that the players, the fans, the administration, the technical staff and everyone who represents Olympiakos, we all want to win. We will do our work with respect to our world.
And you, the fans, always support us in good and bad times. I’m sure that in the end we will all celebrate happily.”
