Síndico suspected of killing palmeirense in the interior of SP surrenders to the police

Financial manager Emerson Ricardo Fiamengui, 44, was arrested on Sunday night (13), in São José do Rio Preto (443 km from SP), after the court ordered his preventive detention. He is suspected of having killed with a punch a resident of the building where they live, in Jardim Pinheiros, during Palmeiras’ 2-1 defeat by Chelsea, in the Club World Cup final, on Saturday afternoon (12).

According to the victim’s wife, architect Giani Senefonte, she and her husband, lawyer Celso Wanzo, 58, were at home with friends watching the Palmeiras game when they heard cursing coming from the sidewalk.

Also according to Senefonte, the lawyer saw that he was the condominium manager and went down with a friend. As soon as he reached the sidewalk, the aggressor would have punched the lawyer, who would have fallen to the ground unconscious.

According to the Rio Preto police, as Wanzo was alive, the deputy on duty on Saturday set a bond of R$5,000 and he was released to respond to the crime in freedom. The situation changed with the death of the fan, at the Hospital de Base in Rio Preto, and there was a request for arrest by the Public Ministry.

The preventive detention was decreed on Sunday by the judiciary duty. According to the police, Fiamengui turned himself in at night to the Central of Flagrantes of the interior city when he learned of the judicial decision. The crime is being investigated by the 1st Police District of Rio Preto.
