The UEFA club competitions enter the new era from season 2024/25with the single groups of 36 teams in Champions, Europa and Conference League.
It is reminded that now the two countries with the top annual harvest in the UEFA rating will get an extra ticket to the Champions League.
After the matches on Wednesday (14/02), the Italy is at the top with 14,285 points this year, with England to follow with 13,875, while Germany is very close.
What does this mean; That if the season ended today, the 5th of Serie A, Bologna and the 5th of the Premier League, Aston Villathey would secure a ticket to the premier inter-club competition for the first time in their history!
There is certainly still a long way to go, with the battle for the two extra tickets heating up in the final stretch of the season.
Besides, both the “rosoblu” and Villa are not guaranteed to finish fifth, they could do better or worse…
