Jengo debuts in the Winter Throwing Cup

It opens on Sunday (25/2) in Heraklion, with its holding 9th Winter Throwing Cup in Pankritio and at the Eleftheria stadium, the “curtain” of the summer season for the athletes of the hurling competitions. “My training slowed down a bit now that I got sick. The games are early this year and there is no room to stop training now. In the winter cup in Heraklion we will have the opportunity to see where we are and to improve parts of the technique. We have not prepared for the Crete event, since our first possible competition for this year is the winter hurling cup in Leiria” said the athlete of Giorgos Botskariov, who has an individual record of 65.81 meters in the competition from the 2022 European Championships in Munich.

At the same time, Jengo also referred to the planning of her competitions for the open track, pointing out: “The basic planning is done, we haven’t booked the meets I will be in yet, however, as it will have a lot of events in a short period of time, we will be selectively targeting the races. I think I will be in the Diamond League as well. The time to Rome is short and we must be careful. There are many sportsmen and women who will leave the European, to go directly to the Olympics. I want to be in Rome and claim a medal and then of course claim a good presence at the Olympic Games. The year is difficult, however, I believe that with good planning and without any unforeseen circumstances, everything will develop as we have planned».
