He survived the “thriller” with Pegasus and Kifisia takes fifth place

Kifissia ready for top five in Men’s Volley League. The team from the northern suburbs defeated Pegasus 3-2 in Polichni for the 17th game of the league and is close to the fifth place of the regular season, since it is favored in the tie with Thessalonikeis, Phoinikas Syros and Athlos Orestiadas.

The three “golden” changes of Kostas Christofidelis, while Kifisia was losing with 0-1 set and 7-14 in the second, brought the upset and the victory for the guests.

A top performance for Kifissia was made by Hasbala, who took the place of Stivachtis in 13-6. With the entry of Gladstone in the place of Papageorgiou, but also of Spyriounis in the place of Bogits, Kifisia changed its face, and the whole flow of the match.

With two big runs of 5-0 and 6-0, Kifisia “turned around” the second set and, from 14-7 behind, found itself in front with 18-15. Big battles followed and with two attacks by Okosanovic and an error by Hazelden he took the set 26-24.

Pegasos, despite prevailing in the block-defense and having better percentages in the attack than Kifisia (51% against 48%), did not have a pressing service and made mistakes at the end of the sets.

Now, in order to get the fifth place, Pegasos will have to win 3-0 or 3-1 in Kalamata in the last game and Kifisia should lose to Athlos in Zirineio.
