THE Neil Harris has associated his name with the Millwallwhose shirt he wore in the periods 1998-2004 and 2007-2011, while working for it in various positions from 2013 to 2019.
He has since bounced around Cardiff, Gillingham and Cambridge before agreeing to return to the Lions a few days ago.
The strange thing is that Millwall is the his third team for this year!
You see, the 46-year-old coach started the year in Gillinghamwhere he had been working since January 2022 – and had counted a demotion.
Last year October was dismissed from the League Two club and after two months out of work, he returned to the bench taking over Cambridge, one class above.
But when the call came from his beloved Millwall, in mid-February, resigned to take it over and continue his work in the Championship!
Three different clubs, three different divisions, from the bottom to the top, but his task is difficult as his new team fights to avoid relegation.
The start was excellent though, as he led Millwall to a massive double at Southampton…
If you think about it Neil Harris has been personally promoted three times in the past six months. Started off in League Two with Gillingham, moved to Cambridge United in League One and now back in the Championship with Millwall. This is the winning mentality we need as a club.
