Super League: The four footballers with two suspensions and… Thomas Hayek!

by

The regular season of Super League 1 has ended and after 26 matches there are five footballers who have been sent off more than once.

In the relevant list there are players from four different teams and two from Kifissia, but the one who steals the show is Thomas Hague of Panseraikou and that’s because he has two strikeouts in just three innings.

The Czech defender was acquired as a free agent by the Serres team and Pablo Garcia initially considered him to be a key central defender. In his debut, just in the first game, against Olympiakos, he played for four minutes and then received Red card.

After serving his sentence, in the match against AEK, he returned to the starting lineup and played for 90 minutes in the home draw (1-1) with Panaitolikos. His last participation was the very next matchday, specifically the 44 minutes he played at the Kifissia stadium. Face it two yellow cards and again left his team with 10 players, resulting in him not making another league appearance.

Hayek was sent to the team for the match against Panathinaikos in Leoforos without playing and on the first day of January he left Panserraikos. Since then he has been looking for a team.

The rest of the footballers who close the list are Jack Ipalibo and Mateus Santos of Kifissia, the Panagiotis Retsos of Olympiakos and Zisis Karachalios of PAS Ioannina.

The fact that makes the difference is that the last four players have completed a double-digit number of appearances with their teams, having a significant presence in their course in the championship.
