Djuricits: “If we want the championship, let’s win in Karaiskakis, Toumba and Philadelphia”

by

With an “eternal” derby, the program of the first matchday of the playoffs begins, with Panathinaikos being hosted at “G. Karaiskakis” from Olympiakos.

THE Filip Djuricic spoke ahead of the match at pre game sports show on COSMOTE TV which will be shown on Sunday afternoon (10/03).

In detail what he said:

About the start of the playoffs and what Panathinaikos should do: “We knew from the beginning of the season that the playoffs will decide who will be crowned champion. Certainly, knowing our mindset, we were preparing for this. We could have had a better starting position because for most of the regular season, we were I would say at the top. But that doesn’t change things that much. We have games against our rivals and everything is open. It is true that we are four points below the first place, but in the playoffs everything is possible, especially because we will play twice against teams that are the main contenders for the title”.

In which areas should there be improvement: “Personally, but also the whole team, we need to bring back the knowledge of how good we are. This is the most important thing, because our approach to games should be this if we want to become champions. If we want to be crowned champions, we will have to go to Karaiskakis, Toumba, to AEK’s stadium to win. That’s the mindset and approach we need to have. If we don’t change, it will be very difficult to win the league. If we don’t go into matches with that approach, we won’t be crowned champions. For me what we should not change, but improve to a small extent, is the approach. I believe we can do that, because we have all shown in the past that we can play well in derbies and several times during the year, we won.”

On how he experienced his injury and how he feels now: “I always try to see things on the positive side. I learned a lot from this case. We had a heavy schedule in January, I tried and everyone together tried to help me come back as quickly as possible and compete. Things may not have gone perfectly, but I would say that I am more motivated now, because I had to be more patient for this moment. I have a lot of desire and hope to come back and quickly find my best form when I have to and that’s the most important thing.”
