Government investigations of UFOs since the end of World War II have found no evidence of extraterrestrial technology and have concluded that most sightings were common objects and phenomena that were misidentified as something elsesays a Pentagon report released today.

In 2022 the Pentagon had announced that the then newly formed agency AARO (All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office) had found no evidence to suggest that aliens have visited Earth or that alien spaceships have crashed.

Under the National Defense Authorization Act of 2023 AARO was required to give Congress a report detailing the history of “unidentified anomalous phenomena” (UAP) research from 1945 onward. He turned over the first two volumes last week, Pentagon spokesman Col. Pat Ryder said in a statement accompanying the unclassified version released to the public.

AARO found no evidence that any US government research, academically supported research, or official panel confirmed that any UAP sightings constituted extraterrestrial technology,” the report’s summary states. “Although many reports of UAP remain unexplained, AARO believes that if more and better quality data were available, most of these cases could also be explained as common objects or phenomena“, he added.

The report says that since 1945 the US government has funded research to determine whether UAPs pose a risk to flight safety, whether they are technological leapfrogs by rival countries or evidence of “out-of-this-world technology” by intelligent beings.

He also mentions that there is a recurring narrative in popular culture that the government – or some secret organization within it – has recovered “numerous spacecraft and alien biological remains” and is implementing “retrospective engineering” programs to acquire this technology.

AARO recognizes that many people sincerely believe these versions. The aim of the report is not to prove or disprove any set of beliefs but to use a rigorously analytical and scientific approach to investigate past UAP research efforts funded by the US government».

AARO found no empirical evidence for claims that the US government and private companies acquired alien technology through retrograde engineering research,” the report continues.

“AARO has determined, based on all available information to date, that the allegations regarding specific individuals, known locations, technological experiments and documents allegedly related to the reproduction of alien technology are inaccurate».

According to this text, other claims will be analyzed in a second volume.

The US military has spent decades pushing back, debunking and discrediting sightings of unidentified flying objects and “flying saucers” dating back to the 1940s.

The Pentagon said two years ago that its investigations had turned up hundreds of new reports, but nothing to suggest intelligent extraterrestrial life.
