The announcement of the Ministry:

With an amendment to the draft law of the Ministry of Education, Religion and Sports “Strengthening the Public University – Framework for the operation of non-profit branches of foreign universities”, which was voted a while ago in the Parliament, the obligation (Article 8, Law 5025/2024) to operate electronic systems supervision in the sports facilities for the professional basketball championship of the A1 National Men’s Category (Basket League) starts from 04/09/2024.

The extension (from April 9, 2024) of the obligation to operate electronic surveillance systems in sports facilities, regarding the professional basketball championship of the A1 National Category for men (Basket League), is given following a unanimous request submitted by the Hellenic Association of Anonymous Basketball Societies (ESAKE).

According to their unanimous request, although the K.A.E.-members of the Association are already in the stage of adapting the electronic supervision systems of their seats, a longer period of time is required than originally set (03/06/2024) in order to harmonize fully with the relevant specifications of the new law.

Thus, and in order not to disrupt the orderly conduct of the ongoing championship, it was deemed appropriate to grant a reasonable extension for the fulfillment of the relevant obligations.
