It is due to human error spotlight falling to the floor during a timeout in the match between Baskonia and Barcelona, as announced by the Vitoria team. Fortunately there were no injuries from the accident, however the Basques have requested an immediate check on all the floodlights to ensure there is no risk of another fall, while the club has decided to terminate the contract with the technical supplier and possibly take legal action against him.
Baskonia’s announcement:
“Basconia has launched an urgent investigation into the incident that occurred in the Liga Endesa Matchday 24 match between Basconia and Barcelona, during which a projector from the video scoreboard fell during the last time-out of the match .
After a first analysis carried out by professionals specializing in the installation at the end of the race and a second review carried out early this morning, the investigation finds that the incident occurred due to human error by one of the technicians of the company responsible for installation of headlights.
Once the error was detected, Baskonia requested an immediate revision of the entire installation to guarantee the correct placement of the remaining headlights.
Once this investigation, the analysis of the installation and the verification that all other elements are correctly installed and comply with all safety measures, Baskonia has taken the decision to terminate the contract with the technical supplier and reserves the right to take appropriate legal action’.
