Bakulas: “The feeling and what we are experiencing is incredible”

Statements after the great victory of Olympiakos U19 in the home of Bayern Munich for the quarter-final phase of the Youth League, three of the protagonists in the triumph of the “red and white” made statements.

Initially, Mr Stavros Pneumonidis described the qualification as huge, which came against a very big club, stressing that: “It’s a huge qualification against a big club. However, we also show what kind of club we are and that Olympiacos has enormous experience and recently the club turned 99 years old. Now we are looking forward to the Final 4 and of course we are also thinking about the championship we are claiming.

We took advantage of the opportunities we had, while we were quite concentrated in our defense and disciplined in the plan that the coach had asked us to implement. I dedicate the qualification to my dad”.

On his part, Nektarios Alafakis expressed his great joy at the great victory, reporting “We are happy and very proud of the victory and the qualification that we achieved and got in the final phase of the competition. We also thank the people who came to Munich and supported us and we were able to celebrate this qualification with them. We dedicate this qualification to the 99 years of our Olympiacos”.

Finally, O Fanis Bakulas described the feeling after the triumph as incredible, dedicating the victory to his family and emphasizing: “The feeling and what we are experiencing is incredible. I think the key was the discipline in our game, because we were pressured for a large part of the game by our opponent. But the counterattacks we created we managed to score goals and thus get this great qualification. I dedicate the victory we got to my family, to the coach who had me as a player at a young age in the first team I started and came all the way to Germany to see me in the quarter-final against Bayern”.
