A border guard was killed, and at least ten civilians were injured, from the attack launched earlier by groups of pro-Ukrainian Russian fighters in the Belgorod region, one of the two Russian regions where similar incidents unfolded today.

“Ten civilians were injured, six of whom are hospitalized… One border guard was killed,” regional governor Vychislav Glatkov announced in a Telegram post.

Armed group – allegedly made up of Russian dissidents, fighting alongside Ukrainian forces – also launched a cross-border raid in Russia’s Kursk region.

In the past, Russian officials have characterized these groups as puppets of the Ukrainian military and the US CIA, which are trying to cause chaos in Russia.
