by

The referee who will officiate the final between Hellas and Agricultureon Tuesday (26/3, 19:00) in Tbilisi, with a ticket for the Euro 2024.

Specifically, it will be the Pole Simon Marciniak, familiar to us from previous times who has whistled for our representative group – also in a match with Georgia – and not only that. It is of course about his referee World Cup final in Qatar, between Argentina and France.

The 43-year-old referee has whistled in three games of the National Team, all in the context of World Cup qualifiers: In September 2017 in the defeat (1-2) by Belgiumin November 2021 in the defeat (0-1) by Spainwhile in March he led our meeting (1-1) with Agriculture in Toumba.

From there, Maciniak has managed Olympiakos’ rematch with Wolves in 2020 for the “16” of the Europa League, in which the “red and white” lost 1-0 having major complaints from the referee. He was also the “lord” in AEK’s draw (1-1, 28/8/2018) with Vidi (with “Union” advancing to the Champions League groups), in PAOK’s away defeats by Benfica (3- 0, 27/2/2014) and Marseille (2-1, 7/4/2022), while he also whistled in a friendly victory (1-2) of the U21 National Team against the Maltese side in June 2011.

He has also whistled once at Stoiximan Super League level, specifically in March 2021, again at Toumba and in his 2-2 PAOK with Mars.

His helpers will be his countrymen, Pavel Sokolnitsky and Thomas Listkiewicz4th referee the Slovak Ivan Kruzliak and VAR the, also Polish, Thomas Kwiatowski.
