Papadopoulos: “We can play much better”

Nikos Papadopoulos emphasized that the Elpidon National Team competed without six players against Andorra, he asked for better performances in the rest of the qualifying phase and a combination of results for the qualification to come, so he asked for victories and to remove the stress.

Analytically: “In the specific assignment for the two games against Belarus and Andorra we had several difficulties. In fact, today we had to play without six players. Overall, of course, our two performances were not what we wanted, as we can play much better and we have proven that in the previous matches against Croatia and Portugal, but there is room for improvement.

Certainly, the loss against Belarus costs us because now we need a combination of results to “chase” qualification. I think our performance today was not so good because of the stress the lads had, as there was no other outcome than to win. We keep the three points from the win and focus on the two games left until the end of the qualifiers, which we have to win. I hope that in the last game against Croatia we are still ‘chasing’ the qualification or play-offs, so that we can go to a final, where we will give everything to get the victory”.
