Manzios: “All the players realized how big a club Aris is”

by

Akis Manzios characterized the events for the club’s 110 years as a great opportunity in which all the foreign players of the team understood how big a club Aris is. The coach of the team referred to the playoffs and also the match that the yellows have in front of them against Lamia for the second matchday of the process.

The following are the statements of Akis Manziou:

For what the team collected from its people during the festive events:

“It was a beautiful two days! We all celebrated together and with our people the 110 years of our team. It was something very nice for all of us in the team. We learned things we didn’t know about the history of Mars. Overall, it was a two-day full of Mars and it was really impressive what we experienced!”

On whether the players now fully understand how much the entire Mars organization is into winning the Cup:

“There are children in the team, who for the first time experienced things with the world of Mars outside the field. I think everyone realized that we are in a big club. Once we’re through to the final and we have the opportunity to challenge for the trophy, we’ll do it. Now, everyone on the team realizes how much the entire organization wants this trophy. We will do our best, we will give our soul to bring the trophy to Thessaloniki. But that has to wait, because we have a long way to go until we reach the day of the final.”

For the period of the suspension of the championship and if he benefited from it:

“Every interruption has a risk, how will you show up afterwards. This interruption in particular was very long in duration. We were in a good state both mentally and physically. On the other hand, always in a break you can add things and improve your team in various areas. In addition, the players also needed a breather, because they spent two months filled with too many games. So it was important for them to calm down, now we go into the final stage of the season. We worked on many pieces. We hope that we will be ready when the playoffs resume.”

On how his side expect him to perform at the start of the final round of official games ahead of the current season:

“We have some small problems, however, I believe that by the time of the match against Lamia we will have overcome them as well. It is important to have all the players available, because during the season we suffered a lot with absences”.

On how much the victory against PAOK in the playoffs premiere helped the team:

“I wouldn’t say we see that we have the weakest opponent in the playoffs ahead of us. We have to respect the Lamia team. He has had an excellent season. It’s a team that knows what it wants on the field. This game requires effort and seriousness. We should not dwell on previous games, but focus on what is coming. It may have a different degree of difficulty compared to a derby, as it was with PAOK, but we must adapt to the demands of the game and seriously claim the victory”.

On how Aris should approach the game against Lamia:

“We have to get serious and play for the win. This is our goal. I believe we will succeed.”
