Lucescu: “We are here to play our football”

THE Razvan Lucescu he kept his cards closed for his first quarterfinal PAOK with Club Brugge for the Conference League in Belgium, but stressed that his team will play their own football. At the same time, he referred to the difficult period that Magomed Ozdoev went through, while he praised the world of the “Two Heads of the North” for the passion they show to be next to the team.

– the tactics he will choose: “I wouldn’t like to share anything. We will face a team that represents Belgian football, a league with a lot of intensity. Belgium is a football country. We come from strong matches, we are here to play our football”.

-the mistakes he doesn’t want to see repeated: “No one can understand a match, the team has a good mentality, they try to control the opponent and play their football. In the first match against Dinamo we had our chances, but in the end the result was negative for us. We know very well that in such games the details make the difference, the goal for me and my players is to be focused on this game, we don’t want to think about what will happen in a week or a month.”

-the recent change of coach in Bruges: “Not having a player doesn’t change anything, just like we won’t have Murg and Ekong. The coach will have to adapt and find solutions. I don’t want to comment on the change of coach, I just know that Bruges is a very strong team, representing a high level of football.”

– the lofty goals of PAOK: “It is obvious that the best performances come when we are focused, when we are able to react cold-bloodedly in difficult situations. That comes when you’re focused on the moment, that’s why we prepare the team game by game. Every player in this group is important, we have gained confidence through this process, so we will approach tomorrow’s match as well. Once this match is over we will look at the next one.”

– the world of PAOK: “I’m sorry that there are problems with the tickets, on the other hand I’m happy that we will have the people on our side, the passion they show for this team is incredible. We have a strong will to see us rise to the next level.”

-Ozdoev’s revelation about his mental health problems: “Every player, every person has their ups and downs. In these situations we support each other and give him confidence. We have spent many hours discussing these situations. Greece is a country that counts today, you win you are the best in the world, the next day you lose and you are the worst. You have to learn to go through hardships and when you go through hardships, you become a better person.”
