A report in Germany claims there is a team of professional soccer players which plans to announce next month, on May 17, how it is gay.
It is part of an initiative to encourage footballers, coaches, referees and officials to communicate their sexual preferences to the outside world. In fact, several Bundesliga clubs support this initiative created by Markus Urban, who came out as gay during his career.
Dortmund, Union Berlin, St Pauli, Freiburg and Stuttgart are among the clubs that are financial backers of the project.
The scheduled group announcement is called “Sports Free” as players and coaches can reveal their sexuality through a platform that will go online in the coming weeks.
In the context of this initiative, in fact, there will be a documentary entitled “Hide and Seek”which will feature the footballers in question.
