Bayern Munich-Real Madrid: Act one in the semi-final of the… trophies!

by

Final straight in the top European inter-club football competition!

Her evening Tuesday (30/4, 22:00) the semi-finals of the Champions League begin, with Bayern Munich to welcome her Real Madrid in “Allianz Arena”. A day later it will be the same in Westphalia between Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain, with the winners of the two pairs of course meeting on June 1 in the grand final. The rematch of tonight’s pair is scheduled for next Wednesday (8/5, 22:00).

In one… trophy matchwith both teams having lifted the ‘holy grail’ 20 times in total (Real 14 by a margin at the top of the relevant list, 3rd Bayern six). Yes, they have been set seven times facing each other in semi-finalswith the Bavarians having a short lead in the qualifiers (4-3). Of course, the recent tradition is with the Madrids.

The match will be televised from Cosmote Sport 1 HDwhile there will be live updates from sport-fm.gr.

For the hosts, for some time now the only – but also more important – goal they have left is the Champions League. And the truth is that their performances improve a lot in the top competition. After all, they proved it in the quarterfinals with the Arsenal (2-2 away, 1-0 home). Of course, this institution is also his opportunity Harry Kane -which breaks one productivity record after another in the Bundesliga- not to be left without a trophy (and) this season, his first in Munich. In the championship (2nd, 69b.) it comes from home 2-1 on her Eintracht, last Saturday (27/4). A match, in which the Thomas Tuchel – who Bayern fans are backing to stay with the team despite the already announced ‘divorce’ – made several changes.

On the other hand, the “Queen” is a breath away from the mathematical sealing of the conquest of La Liga. Last Friday (26/4) he got the “double” (0-1) on her Real Sociedadby Carlo Ancelotti to also open up the rotation a lot ahead of tonight’s game. So he can focus on the Champions League, where he is coming off a huge qualifying run by knocking out the favorites to win, Manchester City (3-3 at home, 1-1 away in regular time and overtime, with the “merengues” winning 4-3 on penalties).

On the competitive side now, enough of the issues in the Bayern camp. Specifically, they are doubtful Leimer and De Licht but also the Sane as to his readiness (however, it is assumed that he will start as a starter). Certainly except o Coman. The only major problem for Real is his absence Carvajal who completed cards against City.

Possible compositions:

Bayern Munich (Thomas Tuchel, 4-2-3-1): Neuer – Kimmich, Dier, De Ligt, Mazrawi – Goretzka, Leimer – Sane, Musiala, Guerreiro – Kane.

Real Madrid (Carlo Ancelotti, 4-4-2 diamond): Lunin – Vazquez, Tswameni, Rudiger, Mendy – Valverde, Modric, Kamavinga, Bellingham – Vinicius, Rodrigo.

The referee of the match will be the Frenchman Clemont Turpin.

It is reminded that the away goal rule does not apply. In the event of an overall tie after the completion of regular time and the second match, a half-hour overtime will follow and if necessary, the penalty shoot-out.
