The mission for the Under 13 European Table Tennis Championship in Bucharest

The European Table Tennis Championship for male and female athletes up to 13 years of age is being held for the second consecutive year and will be hosted by Bucharest, May 22-26, 2024.

From the harbinger of the European Championship in 2022 to the Europe Challenge in Montenegro, Greek table tennis shows lively interest and claims in the new institution. Therefore, he will also have a full mission in the Romanian capital and will seek good performances. E.F.O.E.P.A. announces the children who make up the National team based on the Greek evaluation tables for May. Tables not yet published, but calculated for this age group.

In Bucharest, the 13-year-old Apostolos Vatsaklis of SPA Lykovrisi-Pefkis and Giorgos Sassanis of Telamos Salamina, the 11-year-old Theofanis-Frixos Markoulakis of OA Chania, the 13-year-old Aphrodite-Ioanna Sarikakis of GAS Elefsis-Dimitra 1972 and the 12-year-old girls Hope Tasios of AO Thermis Thermaios and Anastasia Michalaru from AS Progress Voutzas Rafinas.

Three athletes and an equal number of athletes from each country have the right to participate. With the completion of the final of the development tournaments, the children’s points in the Greek ranking list were calculated. Of course, the Panhellenic Women’s and Women’s Championship that had taken place a few days before in Patras also counted.

Completing the top three, athletes Sarikakis, Tassiou, Michalaros and athletes Vatsaklis, Markoulakis, Sassanis could take part in the Bucharest event and only if someone did not wish to participate, the next ones in the ranking would be eligible.

E.F.O.E.P.A. also announces that Loukia Giannadaki has been appointed as the responsible coach of the girls and Anita Khachatryan of the girls. Both are team trainers, Giannadaki of Lykovrisis Pefkis SPA and Khatsatrian of Thermaios Thermis from Thessaloniki.

The European Championship will take place in the “Polyvalent Hall” and includes the events of the team (with mixed teams, i.e. they will have boys and girls together), singles and mixed doubles.
