Maradona’s 1986 World Cup Ballon d’Or up for auction

by

Her prize is to be auctioned “Golden Ball” of World Cup of 1986 conquered by the legendary Diego Armando Maradona.

The said ceremony will take place in France on June 6 and will be conducted by the auction house Aguttes.

The award is of course not related to the one given in the corresponding period by “France Football” and which, of course, with any variations, continues to be given to this day (besides, until 1995 the award only concerned European footballers).

So the Argentina legend picked up his own award after their impressive World Cup performances Mexico, where – competing every minute of the tournament and scoring five goals in the final phase – he led the “Albiceleste” to the 2nd relevant trophy in its history. ΄

Unforgettably, his two “hits” (the “Hand of God” and the “Goal of the Century”) in the quarter-final against England. After all, both the jersey he wore that day and the match ball have already been auctioned.

It should be noted that the value of Maranonda’s “Golden Ball” – whose authenticity was certified by the Aguttes house – has not yet been confirmed. However, it is estimated that it will “extract” several million euros.
