The countdown has begun and the World Pre-Olympic Wrestling Tournament is expected to open its gates and give away the last tickets for Paris 2024.
Greece will compete with a full team and goal, but also everyone’s desire to secure as many qualifications as possible for the Olympic Games.
The competition program starts tomorrow with the Greco-Roman, the women will continue their efforts and at the end the free style will be held.
Four Greek athletes will fight in Greco-Roman. At 77k. Giorgos Prevolarakis will compete, at 87km. Ilias Pagalidis, at 97k. Michalis Iosifidis and at 130k. Nikos Dunias.
In Women’s Wrestling, our country will be represented by three athletes. At 50k. Marina Karapanagiotidou will fight, at 53k. Maria Prevolaraki and at 76 the Agora of Papavasileiou.
In the free style, Dauren Kourougliev (86k) and Thodoris Kyriakidis (97k) will claim the qualification.
International referees Christos Liakos and Pavlina Georgiou have also traveled to the pre-Olympic tournament.
The head of the delegation is Lia Nikolaou, while the coaches Yiannis Pagalidis, Christoforos Xenidis and Moisen Parisei will also travel to Turkey.
Remember that the three athletes of each category qualify. Oper means that the two thirds will fight each other for Olympic qualification.
