The American guard finished the period having 19.7 points (80.9% shooting, 55.4% 2-point shooting, 44% 3-point shooting), 5.5 assists, 5 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 22.5 rating in 32.6 minutes of action average.
Best coach: Dimitris Liogas
Dimitris Liogas was voted the best coach of the Elite League Errikos Dunan for his overall work at Korivos Amaliadas. The 57-year-old coach led his team to sixth place in the regular season with 16 wins and 14 losses, while then came the elimination by Milos in the playoffs.
Best new player: Yiannis Karakostas
Yiannis Karakostas was voted the best new player of the league, among the many who showed their talent this year in the Errikos Dunan Elite League. The 20-year-old guard was a key member of Papagou’s team, which finished in ninth place in the regular season, but through the play-ins he played in the playoffs where he was eliminated by Panionios. Four Greeks and one foreigner were voted in the best five of the Elite League Errikos Dunan. It is made up of
Nikos Gikas (Panionios), Sarantis Mastrogiannopoulos (Herakles), Zak Bryant (Hermes Schimatariou/Milon), Petros Geromichalos (Neaniki Estia Megaridas) and Dimitris Kaklamanakis (Panionios).
Nikos Gikas played a pivotal role in Panioni’s regular-season first-place finish and the Final 4. The 33-year-old playmaker was first in assists and fifth in steals during the season, which he finished with 11.4 points ( 69.1% shooting, 48.2% 2-pointers and 34.6% 3-pointers), 4.7 rebounds, 8.1 assists, 1.7 steals and 16.3 rating in 28.5 average minutes .
Sarantis Mastrogiannopoulos tied with Iakovos Milendijevics (Panionios) and Ty-Sean Alexander (Koroivos Amaliadas) but earned the spot due to his higher ranking in the regular season. The Heracles guard, eleventh in scoring and fourth in steals, helped his team reach the Final 4 with 15.5 points (74% on shots, 47.6% on 2-pointers, 26% on 3-pointers), 5.1 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.7 steals and 15 rating in 30.7 minutes average.
Dimitris Kaklamanakis had his own big part in Panioni’s run to the Final 4. The 30-year-old center, who was a leading rebounder in the division, averaged 11.5 points during the season (64.2% on shots, 57% on 2-pointers, 100% on 3-pointers). Averaged 8.6 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.1 steals, 0.9 blocks and 17.2 rating in 24.8 minutes.
The top players based on the vote will be awarded on Sunday at the Ano Liosion Olympic Center, before the match that will decide the second promotion ticket (16:00) from the Elite League Errikos Dunan. At the same time, the top players in the six main statistical categories of the regular season will be awarded: the first in points Christian Bradford (Neaniki Estia Megaridas), in rebounds Dimitris Kaklamanakis (Panionios), in assists Nikos Gikas (Panionios), in steals Konstantinos Efstratiou (AO Mykonos), in cuts by Yiannis Sahpatzidis (Glory of Lefkada) and in evaluation by Jacques Bryant (Hermis Schimatariou/Milo).
