by

After yesterday’s impressive “royal” stage and the great battle between the general favorites that we watched in Velouchi, the PPC International Cycling Tour of Greece 2024 continues today with the 4th stage, the longest of this year’s event, since the peloton will cover 196.53 kilometers, all in the Region of Central Greece, starting in Sperchiada and ending in Chalkida.

The athletes will start at 12:30 noon from the headquarters of the Municipality of Makrakomi, Sperchiada and the Prefecture of Fthiotida, they will pass through Lamia, where the first intermediate sprint straight is located (km 27.9) and after climbing to Hani Karanassiou (ascent 2nd category, km 49.8), will continue south, towards Viotia and the two large urban centers of the prefecture, Livadia and Thebes, where the next two intermediate straight sprints are located (km 117.2 and 161.9 respectively).

Another change of direction will follow, northeast this time, towards Chalkida, with the small climb of Prophet Ilias (3rd category, km 187.6) located just 9 kilometers before the finish line, which is located on the old bridge of the town, next to the Euripus strait with the unique phenomenon of the water changing direction every six hours (known as the Euripus tide). A stage, in which we expect the classic battle between the breakaway group and the sprinter groups, where another mass sprint will be the most likely outcome.
