Baltakos: “We have worked to have a successful organizational final”

The time for the great Betsson Greek Cup Final has arrived. Panathinaikos and Aris will claim the big trophy, in the most important match of the year.

The two teams have come this far by overcoming all the obstacles in their way, in a long-distance event that started last fall with the participation of amateur teams until, gradually, the professional teams entered.

That is why congratulations are due to all the clubs that competed, whether they played in one match or more. Congratulations and well done to the footballers and coaches, their agents and fans.

In extension of the above, we must emphasize that this is the great value of the Cup organization, as it gives opportunities not only to the strong teams of the top league, but also to those of the other categories.

That is why the Cup is called “an institution of surprises”, not only in our country, but worldwide. And yes, the finalists of the final are representatives of the top league, but in the course of the competition until the final there were several surprises.

Dear sports fans, in the Federation we have worked to have an organizationally successful final, as far as possible and given the limitations and obstacles we had to face. So we hope that the competitive part will be worthy of the value and history of the two finalists, Panathinaikos and Aris.

In the year that closes with today’s big game, we had a competitive championship and a very interesting Cup event, with strong and ambivalent matches. I hope that the final will be a nice match, in a sporting context, that it will offer a spectacle and that the most deserving team will emerge as the winner.

A good Cup final always contributes positively to the progress and development of Greek football.
