Alexandris: “At the El Kaabi goal I looked up at the sky and saw our dead celebrating too”

Tuesday morning I start with the boat, the Delos from Paros, whose chief accountant, George, is sick. We talked about it on the way and his eyes gave off sparks of joy and confidence for the trophy.

Arriving in Piraeus until I found a taxi, hundreds of anchovies who recognized me stopped and shouted “Olympiakos” ecstatically. Before I recovered from all of this, I thought that the power of the world is insurmountable and so passionate that all my anxiety was already gone… Then my brothers Dimitris and Haris Barboutis took me to their house and we started the slogans and how we will celebrate in the final…

At noon on Wednesday we arrived in Karaiskakis and there I understood that even if Real were on our way in the evening they would worship the people of the legend. A tangle of people singing and giving courage to each other. People from all parts of the earth shouting Olympiacos, dancing, dreaming of this moment that was coming. I say, how can we not take the cup, when you see the passion, the love, the madness, the faith of this world to conquer Europe. The same on the field, I was so calm and sure of the victory.
