Improbable, mythical and unrivaled o Miltos Tendogloumade history at the “Olympic Games” in Rome by winning for the third consecutive time in European Championship the gold medal in the long jump!
Accomplishing two jumps at 8.65 meters (!), the Greek Olympian broke his personal record by 6 cm, while also scoring new racing record!
Despite his great and historic success, the 26-year-old jumper expressed his “complaint” in his post-final remarksfor the fact that he did not manage to reach or break the pan-Hellenic record of Louis Chatuma and the 8.66m. held by the once great Greek athlete since 2007 in Kalamata!
However, he did not hide his joy and satisfaction with his appearance and performance, stressing that in Olympic Games will be even better and ready for bigger jumps!
Miltos Tedoglou’s statements in detail:
“Respect. Apologize, I’m crap, I’m tired. It was a nice match. I tried to make a pan-Hellenic record, I did 8.65 meters twice, damn it, that doesn’t happen!
It helped the climate here and the runway was in good condition. I’m better on hard stages with this surface. It’s a fantastic tartan. I had a good fight for sure, and so did my opponents. And the Italian Furlani was terrible.
Just kidding, it’s the best final ever. I’ve said it since the semi-finals that we’re all “beasts” here in the final. and the Czech who is 8 meters and the Portuguese is good. The 12 was fantastic, well done.
8.86 is a long way off but I got a little closer. The point is if you want to do 8.80 go for 8.90. I’ll have to go for 9 meters to make it. I got better today and I’m glad about it.
I enjoyed it more than all the games and for the performance of course. I am happy for what I have done!
The biggest goal of all is the Olympics and I believe in a better race because it will be fantastic and I know I will be fine.”
