Stefanidi was moved after the award: “You grow up with dreams and forget to see that you are where you wanted to be”

She made us proud once again Katerina Stefanidistaking second place in the pole vault final and winning the silver medal at the European Championships in Rome!

The Greek champion appeared touched in the statements she made after the award to the ERT camera, talking about the stability she has shown in her performance over the years, remaining at the top level!

In detail what the Greek champion said:

“Every medal is different. I had a chance to look around yesterday for the first time. You grow up with some dreams that you have achieved and then you want more and you forget to stop and look around, to see that you are where you wanted to be.

Every athlete has their goals, but in the end we owe a respect to what we have achieved. Years pass and I’m on the podium, but the rest of the gymnasts change. They are getting more… small. The truth is that there are gymnasts who will become world champions and I… there… I insist. Yesterday I made the first 70 I made since the European Championships in Munich. There is a progress this year. The match could have gone mediocre, but we start the rest of the season a level higher. Nothing changes. The biggest mistake an athlete makes after success is telling themselves they have to do this or that. I’ll do exactly what I’ve been doing up until now”.
