PAOK: Boutskos returns, alongside Chancellor

An old acquaintance returns to PAOK to be the direct partner of the team’s new coach, Massimo Cancellieri. The reason for him Butsko pantswho was an eight-year partner of Soulis Markopoulos in the Northern Biceps, from 2009 to 2017. This year he worked for Ayandas Evosmou, who was relegated from the Elite League.

After about ten years, Pantelis Boutskos returns to PAOK and as a member of our team’s technical staff, the very experienced coach, will be the direct partner of Head Coach Massimo Cancellieri. Just as he had successfully done in his previous term at PAOK, when he was at the side of Soulis Markopoulos for eight years. Coaches, we welcome you again to the big family of PAOK.

Pantelis Boutskos, on the occasion of his return to PAOK, said: “It is with great enthusiasm that I return to the PAOK family, with the memories strongly etched in my heart and mind. It is not the time for many words, it is the time to all join in the great effort that the President is making and under the guidance of coach Cancellieri, to respond to all the great challenges that lie ahead of us».

Pantelis Boutskos was born in Thessaloniki on November 5, 1973 and from a very early age he was involved in basketball and coaching. He worked at the beginning of his career with Aeschylus at the age of 21 and then with the team of Mantoulidis Schools. From 2005 and for four years, he collaborated in Aris with Ilias Zouros, Andrea Mazzon and with the later world champion with the German national team, Gordon Herbert.

This was followed by his first collaboration with PAOK from 2009 until 2017 and as a direct partner of Soulis Markopoulos, he participated in winning the 3rd place in the championship in three seasons (2010-11, 2013-14, 2014-15).

He was again a member of the technical staff of Aris in the 2019-20 season, but also of Iraklis (2020-22), where he served as head coach for about a year and a half (2021-23), both in the Basket League and in the Elite League.

During last season, he coached Ayandas Evosmou.

He holds a degree in Economics from the University of Athens, as well as Industrial & Organizational Psychology and Personal Selling from the University of Rotterdam.

He has attended the Memphis Grizzlies (coached by Hubie Brown) and in the NCAA, the Memphis Tigers (coach John Kalipari) and Kentucky University (coach Orlando Smith) programs on scholarship.

During his career, he participated in the final of the ULEB Cup (2006) and in the Top 16 of the Euroleague (2006-07 & 2007-08) with Aris, in the “16” of the Eurocup and the BCL with PAOK.
