The mythical outdid himself Emmanuel Karalis!

THE dear Manolo of Greek athletics “flew” to 5.87 meters in his pole vault final, he set a personal record and won it silver medal at the European Championship in Rome!

In his statements after winning the silver medal at the European Games, he declared – obviously moved – that he was proud and ready now for the Olympic Games!

The statements of Emmanuel Karalis to ERT in detail:

On his injury in the qualifying round: “I felt that the whole of Greece had taken care of me after the qualifier. You know, this is all very difficult. At first I turned my foot in the qualifier, but I showed what an athlete can do, who believes in himself and wants to surpass himself. It was a very nice show. I’ve had a very difficult two days. I am touched. Whenever I wear the national flag, my body goes by itself and I perform like this.”

For Dublandis: “Armad is a tremendous athlete and we are very good friends. We are all very good athletes. The level in Europe is very high and I am proud that I was able to surpass myself and claim my first European medal.”

On the composure he brought to the race: “I try to be very calm and low-key. I was very focused, although I was thinking about my leg is the truth. My physical therapist and I did a great job. They told me to stay focused and push through the pain.”

For his future goals: “I had a goal to set a pan-Hellenic record and at some point I will do it. I’m fine, I believe I’ll pass the six meters, if I’m fine I’ll make it.”

For the Olympics: “I’m a big-race athlete, I want to think I’m a podium athlete and one of the best in the world. To prove it in Paris and the Olympiad”.
