Grant: “We are the best team in Greece – In Game 5 I expect the best atmosphere of this season”

In a derby with a lot of nerves and a fight until… the end Panathinaikos made the break in SEF, winning 88-85 Olympiakos and sending the Stoiximan Basket League finals to a fifth and final match.

After the end of the match, Jerian Grant spoke about this great victory, about the potential of the “greens”, but also about the incredible Kendrick Nunn, stressing at the end that he expects in Game 5 the best atmosphere of this season.

About the game: “We knew we had to play better defense. We allowed 50 points, that was too many and that’s what we talked about.”

About the heat that prevailed in SEF: “It was tough but the coaching staff had done a great job, we had iced towels, they helped us through it.”



Regarding the incident that happened in the SEF bellows: “It’s the rivalry. They don’t like that they lost at home, just like we don’t like that we lost at ours. That’s how it is”.

For the team: “We have an excellent team. We have proven that we are the best team in Greece and we still have one more match to finish the job.”

For Nan: “When you have a player like Nan, you give him the ball and go away. At one point I made a mistake and the coach was yelling at me to give him the ball. And that’s what we did in the 4th quarter.”

On the atmosphere that awaits in Game 5: “I expect the best atmosphere of this season. The best I’ve found. I’m excited that we have one more match for the championship.”

For the award for the best defender of the Euroleague that ended up in the hands of Tomas Walkup: “They gave it to Walkup, well done to him. I’d like to, but that’s over”.
