Finale in the… thriller of the Handball Premier finals will take place on Sunday (16/6, 19:30), with Olympiakos welcoming AEK at CG Ilioupoliin the 5th and final game of the series.
The two teams are now at 2-2, having won each as a home team. Besides, last Thursday (13/6) “Union” won 28-23 in New Philadelphia. Possibly, in the easiest victory of the series, at least from one point onwards (in the second half, as in the first the Piraeus were up to four goals ahead).
It is recalled that the three matches that had preceded the fourth final were decided by a difference of two goals, with Olympiakos winning 25-23 and 24-22 (21-21 q.d.), while AEK won 25-23.
Now, the “red and whites”, with the encouragement of their friends, want to defend the home advantage again and return to the championships. On the other hand, of course, the title holders will be looking to make the first break in the series, which by the way did not happen in last year’s finals either.
Olympiacos wants to conquer it 4th championship of its history (2018, 2019 and 2022 the previous three) and 9th title in total, since it has three Cups and two Super Cups, while the Association aims to 6th championship (2011, 2013, 2020, 2021, 2023) and 11th title in its history, also having four Cups and the European title EHF European Cup of 2021.
For the hosts, as in the previous two finals, the right winger will be absent Vida and for the guests the playmaker Johnsonwhile the left inter is particularly doubtful Madalinitch (both missed the 4th final).

The referees of the match were appointed the international Mr. Fotakidis–Kinatzidis with observers of Mr. Miga-Andali.
He won’t be the one 75th final in men’s championship history.
