The Grêmio bus was stoned this Saturday (26) on arrival at the Beira-Rio stadium, in Porto Alegre, where the club would play the classic with Internacional for the Gaucho Championship.
The club informed that members of the delegation were injured and that it will not play the match. Paraguayan player Mathías Villasanti was hit in the face and taken to hospital.
“In addition to the technical imbalance generated by the criminal act and the absence of a sporting atmosphere for the match, Grêmio’s decision is also a manifestation of repudiation of all forms of violence,” the club said on Twitter.
Last Thursday (24), the bus with the Bahia delegation was attacked with a bomb near the Fonte Nova Arena, in Salvador, leaving at least two players injured.
