At the World Deaf Chess Championship held in Belgrade, Nikos Deligiannis took sixth place in the world with 7.5 points, beating big names and with a better world ranking than him.
Although he tied with two more (Kazakh Ketebekov and Serbo Moldovanovic) for fourth place, he ended up finishing sixth, since in ties the criterion that counts (bucholtz) is essentially who played stronger opponents according to their points.
However, it is worth noting that the Greek chess player drew in the second round with the No. 4 of the championship, Serbo Pavisevic, who came second in the world.
He also defeated in the ninth round the Czech Orzak, No2 and international meter, and finally in the 11th round he got a draw from the Israeli Grunfield, No1 and GM, who also won the title of world champion afterwards.
In summary, the results of the Greek chess player (per round):
