The Spaniard announced at noon on Monday (07/01) his retirement from active action at the age of 35, thus taking over from his compatriot, Sergi Rodriguez, while basketball is expected to stop and the Rudy Fernandez this summer, after the obligations of the “furia rocha” in the pre-Olympic tournament or the Olympic Games if he manages to be there.
Claver played in the NBA with the Portland Blazers, while winning a championship (2021) and three Spanish Cups (2018, 2019, 2021) with Barcelona. At the same time, he won the Eurocup twice: in 2010 with Valencia and in 2015 with Khimki.
He was a loyal soldier of Spain, with whom he first competed at the age of 16 and marched with them until he was 35 for his qualifiers Eurobasket 2025.
He won four gold medals (EuroBasket 2009, 2011, 2015 and MundoBasket 2019), as well as the silver in the 2012 Olympic Games in London, and the bronze in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro.
